A Sobadora or Sobador is a person who massages. In our language it refers to a person whose hands are their healing tools. The woman in the painting, Margaret Jaramillo Mascareñas, was known for healing medical conditions where other methods had not worked. Touch, indigenous area botanicals and ventosas, cupping, are also applied. Acrylic on canvas.
